Signals
Signal-based outbound is a prospecting methodology in which each outreach is timed and framed around a specific, verifiable event at the target company rather than static firmographic criteria. The signal provides both the reason to reach out and the content of the message. It is the operational opposite of list-blasting.
Traditional outbound selects a list by industry, size, and geography, then sends the same message to all of them. Signal-based outbound starts from the event: something happened at this company, that event creates a specific need or pressure, and the message addresses that need directly. The targeting is narrower; the relevance is higher.
In practice, signal-based outbound for a consulting firm might mean monitoring leadership transitions at target accounts and sending a note referencing the new executive's specific background within two weeks of the announcement. The relevance is structural, not cosmetic.
PulsePoint Strategic runs signal-based outbound as a done-for-you service: signals are detected automatically, drafts are written in the client's voice, and the client approves before anything sends. The signal is the brief; the outreach is the execution.
PulsePoint Strategic turns signals like these into timed, approved outreach. See how on the signal intelligence page, or estimate the impact with the ROI calculator.
